Dr Claire McLintock – Haematologist and Obstetric Physician – provides private specialist consultation for people with haematological problems and also for women who have medical problems that may complicate pregnancy or who have developed medical complications in pregnancy, such as miscarriage, preeclampsia, venous thromboembolism, low platelets.
As a Haematologist, she specialises in problems relating to blood, and has particular expertise in looking after people with problems with blood clotting – thrombosis – and also bleeding. She has expertise in investigating patients with abnormal blood tests results from neutropenia to neutrophilia, thrombocytosis to thrombocytopenia, polycythemia to anaemia, iron deficiency to iron excess.
Through Redhealth, Dr McLintock provides a personalized assessment of an individual’s risk of venous thrombosis relating to surgery, long distance travel, contraception or pregnancy and will development a management plan tailored to that person’s risk.
An Obstetric Physician, specialising in women with medical problems relating to pregnancy, Dr McLintock has expertise in investigation of couples with recurrent miscarriage, assessment of women who have medical or haematological problems that may complicate pregnancy.

Dr McLintock is a Haematologist and Obstetric Physician at National Women’s Health, Auckland City Hospital working with the Maternal Fetal Medicine Team and was the Clinical Director for Maternal Fetal Medicine between 2014-2018.
She is President of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), the leading global specialist society of clinicians and scientists in the field of thrombosis and haemostasis. She is a member of the ISTH World Thrombosis Day Steering Committee. She is Past-President of the Thrombosis and Haemostasis Society of Australia and New Zealand (previously known as the Australasian Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis) and Past-President of the Society of Obstetric Medicine of Australia and New Zealand and is on the Council of the Asia Pacific Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis.
